On a road in Morocco, 2008

The project was born now almost two years ago, in the head of a backpacker who took this road himself. It was his first big trip and it took him six month to reach Dakar, his initial idea was to travel arround the world in two years and hitchhiking. Only he realised that our friend Google Maps can sometimes trick us on the distances but that's another story ... On his trip, he lived many adventures that are hardly translatable in words but still he had took some pictures of thoses crazy things, unfortunatly one day, just after he crossed the border from Mauritania to Senegal, he realised that his camera and all memory cards were missing. Such a shame he though, because he would never be able to express his friends how impressive this road is, or show them images of the beautys he had seen. After a couple days he came up with an idea, this road had been such an instructive experience that they should do it too, this way they could get there own memory card stolen, and have they're own crazy storys to tell... The basic idea is to bring people on the road, and more precisely on this road, because they're stories on this road, but anyone can look for what he wants. If one want to do the race, then he shall run ! If another want to take his time, do it backward, on rollerblades, or jumping only on one foot ... if he end's up in South America, who know's, it's for the best anyway ! Traveling is a unique and amazing experience that teach you new way of understanding life, and make you discover many things you didn't even though of, it's a really good life lesson !

This website is in his second life, the part where all the participants should subscribe, write there motivations, what does it mean for them and maybe share a picture of they're faces. It's really hard to tell today who is gona do it, or how many they'll be. The communication is on the road by the people involved, written in the toilets of crappy bars in Berlin, on some rocks on the beachs of Hungaria, some handmade flyers are being distributed from the Nepal's Himalaya to the South of India, just travelers talking in a bus station ... and for sure in many other ways. It's defenitly not an easy decision to take, wake up one day and decide to travel for let say (ultra) minimum one month for the first time for some of them, explore a new unknown continent and culture for others, but eventualy one day the "clic" just sound in a head !
